PROGRESS

Lately, I have been slacking off due to the lack of motivation. In my last blog post, I said I would work more on my product and start moving towards my goal; which is completing my website for people to use. I will include my blogger posts because for those who haven't seen my blog before (not like anyone has) then they can see what its like to learn a new language, which in fact is not hard. These past few days I have been improving my website and making it look awesome as possible. Also, I did a research on more Tagalog phrases that can help me develop my Tagalog speaking skills. Honestly, I am happy on my work that I have finished so far because graduation is hitting me really hard and I wanted to finish strong.

This picture resembles my overall project because I am reaching towards my goal to success.

Entry #8

Here we are again facing the same struggle that I have from the last blogs. It's a case called senioritis, which is making me lazy in many ways. This is affecting my 20% project because not only its hurting my grade, its also hurting my promise that i have with my parents. I am not happy with my progress since I'm hardly working on my final product yet, but I have been reading new phrases! This project is pretty boring at this point, but I know its my own fault and I accept that. It still excites me how I'm learning a language without a teacher! Last week, I spoke to my parents, like always, but this time it was harder vocabulary that I didn't quite understand, but they taught me how to say it!

This picture is from an anime and it shows how I am everyday trying to work out a time to actually do my 20% project.

Laziness

Lately I have been very lazy and I regret every moment of it.

Here are the links of what I have been researching Tagalog. It has currently helped me speak tagalog and learn phrases.

Also, I have found a blog about a man who had studied Tagalog and I found it really helpful.

In tomorrows update will consist of me talking about where I am right now. I have been researching a lot of words and speaking them in front of my parents. My ability to preform tomorrow is kind of sketchy because I don't think I can stand in front of my colleges and say where I am today. Concerning about tomorrow, I'm worried that my colleges will judge me because of the current work I have as of right now. Also, I am still scared to present in front of my colleges because I feel I am the odd one out, but I know I can do this.

So far so good

In this weeks blog entry, I am currently in the process of learning different ways to write and speak Tagalog. Through out this week I have been talking in a conversation like kamusta ka? (how are you), anong sinbi mo (what did you say), and anong araw na? (what is todays date). These are the few of which I have memorized and seeped in me. Realizing how simple and easy each word is translated, its sorta similar to what Hispanic-Americans use when they talk in their language.

This photo below is me talking to my mom in Tagalog. I know she is not looking because she is camera shy, but we did have a small conversation about our day. We also talked about how I should continue too learn and influence others to do what I am doing. Within the next few days, I will start writing in my book/dictionary of all the letters, symbols, and words I have learned.

The Pitch!

Now, I introduce you guys to what I will be doing. This is my Pitch.

I will be making a video everyday to show my progress on speaking Tagalog.

That's it! Those fourteen words is what I will create for my 20% project. Also, on google I have found many new websites and videos that will help me speak and understand more of Tagalog. These following links will provide me at least one month and a half to finish: http://www.innovativelanguage.com/learn-filipino ; http://mylanguages.org/learn_tagalog.php ; http://www.youtube.com/user/alanmillet?feature=watch.

Since I'm very low in budget to buy something more efficient like a rosetta stone, then I can always come to my parents for tutoring. My confidence level at this point is very high. I know I won't give up and fail, otherwise my efforts would be gone to waste. I just have to avoid each doubt in my mind and follow my heart and that leads to learning Tagalog, but there is only one thing that will hold me back. It is having enough time to do this project and yet finish homework for other class rooms. This won't hold me back, but I'm going to make something happen. As long as I follow what I had just said, then everything will be fine.
